HOW DO I USE ESSENTIAL OILS
TOPICALLY (applied to skin)
+ Essential oils can be applied directly to the skin or diluted with a carrier oil.
+ Carrier oils are fatty oils that dilute an essential oil. Examples of carrier oils are Young Living's V6 oil, jojoba, almond, or fractionated coconut oil.
+ Diluting essential oils helps them reach a greater surface area, like the back, without lessening the effects of the oil.
+ There are oils that are referred to as "hot" because they can cause a warm/hot feeling on the skin. Diluting with a carrier oil helps with this sensation.
+ You can use essential oils by inhaling or diffusing them.
+ Rub 2-3 drops of essential oil between your palms and inhale.
+ Add a few drops of essential oil to a bowl of hot water and cover your head and bowl with a towel. Breath deep and slow.
Essential oils enter the body through inhalation through the nose or mouth. These airborne molecules go through the olfactory system to the brain. Scents take seconds to reach the brain, including the Limbic system which is commonly referred to as the "emotional brain."
INGESTION (dietary supplement)
+ Ingesting essential oils can be done by dropping 1-2 drops in water, on the tongue, or taking in a veggie capsule.
+ Add essential oils to flavor your food and drink or use as a dietary supplement.
+ I ONLY recommend ingesting Young Living essential oils because of they are 100% pure and because of their Seed to Seal Promise of purity.
